Can I paint my K&N Intake Tube?

It used to be shiny chrome now it has faded into a rusty haze. What is (if possible or recommended) the best way to paint over this? What kind of paint and prep should I use?

I would use some sand paper to take away all the rust and to make sure there is a nice clean surface for the paint to stick to. I would then follow up with a good high temp paint and clear coat.

You could do that, but I would use dupicolor brake caliper kit. I know its a bit over kill but you never know what will get on it. And it really is not that expensive, and sure beats having to redo it.

I have not but others have with great success. And yes I believe it does, if not I would think a little wet sanding and polishing would take care of it.
