Cat question

Hey guys

I'd like to know if cutting just my rear cats out will cause any harm to my truck. Its an '01 4.6 and already has true dual flowmasters (not sure which series, i think 40s) installed by previous owner. Not worried about CEL, already have one .

Thanks!

oh! and its got 170k miles on it with stock cats. so maybe any performance gains?

Nope, no problems with cutting the rear cats (as far as I know). Just make sure you don't mess with the O2's. Any ideas what the current CEL is?
