drop in k&n filter

hey everyone i am new to the site and i love it so here is my question and sorry if it has already been asked but i have not seen it yet.. i have a 2004 f 150 Screw 4X4 lariat 5.4L with flowmaster duals, 285/65 R18 toyo opencountry at's and no other mods yet.. except tinted windows anyhow i do not want to spend hundreds for an intake right now and was wondering if i just use a k&n drop in if it would do anything for power or gas mileage or sound in the truck with no other mods cept the flows. thanks

no you wont need a programmer or anything else with either of those. as for the filter i would avoid k&n due to lack of filtering and because i hate oiled filters. stick with a dry filter like the aem dryflow.
