Exclamation Painting Tips

I have dual exhaust and im going with everything black, would blacking out the crome tips look good, and how could you do it? Thanks guys.

yea it would look good. a guy on here did it and it completes the truck. i think he sanded them then primered then painted

just scuff up the surface to be painted and use BBQ grill high temp paint

I sure it would look outstanding... Remember that if your exhaust exits behind your rear tires you will have to touch them up occasionally from chips off the road. Post some pictures after it's done...

anybody got any pics?? my tips are welded on...... and only 3/4" of clearence from bumper... how would i do that?

hey man i think im gonna try to unhook it and letting it hang just a bit... ill let ya know if you dont do it first... my trucks black i think it will look sweet... and i hate when my chrome tips get dirty b/c its every f*n time i drive it!!!

i thought the hooks were welded to the truck?

no they welded after market hook bushings on my truck then welded hooks on the pipes

VHT makes high temp header paint and a clear. I had a works pipe on one of my sons race bikes and it would rust up just looking at it. I would spray a thin coat on it every couple of weeks or so. Worked great. Also do a search for PJ1 muffler paint. They have a flat black. I would definitely clear coat it, too.

I painted my SS tips with Duplicolor High Heat Low Gloss Black paint. It is rated up to 500 degrees, according to the label on the can. I used a red scotch pad to scuff them up lengthwise and I painted them right on the truck with two coats and no primer.

I did it about a month and a half ago and they still look as good as the day I painted them. No chips, no flaking and no heat marks after nearly a thousand miles of driving in the hot (100+) Texas heat.
