Ram air hood
Ram air hood
Instead of buying a complete cold air intake the word on the street was just take the silencer off and run a K&N Drop in filter. Did that and didn't feel much of a difference but on my edge ive noticed my air intake temp is much hotter. Like in the 110s when its 90 degrees or so outside. Ive always wanted a more aggressive hood, was just gonna put the roush scoop on it but how effective are aftermarket ram air hoods? Also I was thinking about leaving the hood alone and fabricating my own ram air system just off my OEM air box, thoughts? Thanks
I have read they help add more horsepower around 10 to 15, but only when you are driving on the highway. The Benefit comes when you reach speeds of 55+ mph and the hood can collect more air for your intake. I have seen the cost range from $800 on up. I think they look cool.
ram air hoods only work with CAI's..if you wanna lower engine temps with GOTTS moded intake, go with a cowl induction..plus it will cost less to paint due to it being made of steel not fiberglass
