To cut tips or leave tips....

If anyone has ever seen the tips on my truck, the first thing they ask me is, "why does it hang down like that?"
I always reply with, "Midas sucks *****"
So me question for you all is this, should I cut them off and have the pipes dumped right after the axle, or should I just get over it? The tips themselves are made of chromed steel which are already rusting through the chrome plating. Also take this into consideration, I am in the process of de-chroming my truck, so every little bit helps.

Here's a picture of Midas's awesome craftsmanship

I'd say leave it, they look fine to me, you wouldn't want it right close to the bumper anyways. Truck looks nice all detailed btw

What if you left the pipes, but put on new stainless steel tips? That's always an option, just get a bit larger tip due to cutting them off...

The only thing I see that I dont like is that the tips seem to point downwards a bit rather than being evel with the bumper. You could easily have a shop level em out though. Since the tips are rusted this would be a good time to replace them w ith some stainless steel which you can sand and paint black or whateve color you choose or even get them powdercoated.

That's what I mean them "hanging". I'm not going to reroute them guys, just go underneath with a Dremel and a cutting disk and hack them off. I'll leave this going a little longer and decide by tomorrow.

they dont look to bad, just dont dump your exhaust! the tips give you tone. and you may or may not like the sound difference when its dumped.
IMO change your tip exits to 45s mine point down a lil but i like how it looks, also mine are black chrome.

i think it looks fine. when you mean your dechroming the truck do you mean the bumpers and grille and all that is gonna end up being red like the rest of the truck? if thats the case then dump the exhaust if you dont like the way they look.

Well, I went out and took a look at how the pipes were laid out, and the driver side pipe runs parallel to the axle at the top, then turns down. So for now, the tips stay.
