long tube header issues?

i have had my pace setters on for a month or two now and i just looked under the truck and see that on the passenger side my header touches the frame just a little when the engine moves, probly why i have this horrible drone so trying to figure out what i can do to fix the problem, i know im not the only one that has the headers so i cant be the one with the problem?

Hey Blue, I think Weazel mentioned something about his rubbing as well and maybe even FX4Matt. When I get to doing mine soon I think I might beat the top pipe a bit with a mallet and see she goes.

batn68, bottom pipes are hitting top of the frame. im curious how you remedy this and if it works so i can "adjust" mine.

My bad, I misread the issue, but that bottom pipe would it eventually get creased from mashing against the frame and end the noise/drone?

I thought I also read where someone had the top pipes closer towards the collector rubbing up against the cab floor as well and worked em over with a mallet.

ill see if i cant take a picture i dont want to take back out it was a pain to get that thing in there to begin with @ 60 the niose is bad so i either creep or fly goin down the road, and in reverse i think it hits the frame i can feel a vibration at low rmp but then goes away

Maybe you should have a stronger set of motor mounts built, that would be the end of it and you wouldn't have to dent up your LT's.

it doesnt hit hard enough to crease, just annoying.

you know what, your absolutely right. i just went out and looked at mine and the top tubes right before the collector are the ones touching. my bad.

i think we are talking about the same thing. at different mph (depending on throttle position) i have that noise. if i creep it goes away. if i slam it i hear nothing till i let off and it comes back. i think it has something to do with the flow of the tubes and reverberating air. (dont know if i spelled it right)

Vibration I can feel and hear

I got the same thing now, its pretty intense, start it up and passenger side floor board area becomes noisy and then go into either reverse or forward and it vibrates so much I can feel it in the gas pedal, take off and at certain rpms it goes away. On mine its got to be that top pipe hitting the under carriage, I was going to give it a mallet work over but totally forgot about it. I will prolly get some header wrap tomorrow and try wedging it down in between the top pipe and where it rubs up against the under carriage to see if it helps any. Today while sitting at a light it sounds like it finally ate thru the shiny heat/sound material attached to the under carriage and its metal to metal contact, sounds like a wood pecker pecking on a gutter...
