Summit cat back

I just ordered the Summit 3" single cat back exhaust. It comes with Summit's turbo muffler which I like because they keep the inside pipe diameter 3" inside the muffler.

Anyone have experience with this kit? BTW it's going on an 03 Reg cab 4.6L.

No opinions

No problem, it will be here Friday, when I finish welding it up I'll let you guys know how I like it.

Here is the link to it: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

Sure is a good price, I'll be curious to know how it sounds after the install.

Bolted on the kit and dropped in a K&N air filter.
When I bought the kit is was on sale for $125, I noticed now it is $169.
Really easy kit to install for the DIY guys.
It is a pretty well made kit.
The sound is perfect for me. It's a nice low rumble, not too loud.

Here is what you get

Old water heater for a muffler out

I had to cut down the front pipe since this kit is universal for all wheelbase lengths

Here is what I don't like. No matter how I tried to tweak it, the best route ended up going under the spare tire.

Reluctantly I am going to have the muffler shop tweak the bends so it clears around the spare tire instead of under it. I hate having someone else work on my vehicles, but who really has a tube bender with a 3" die in their garage?
Once he gets it bent the way I want it, I will take it all out, weld it up and remove all the clamps.

Here is a short You Tube vid for sound. I think I held the camera too close.

Sounds best if you turn the You-tube sound down low and then turn your speakers up.

ya you need to get that pipe away from your tire the heat will mess it up pretty quick. it sounds pretty good man ive never had any experience with this system but it seems like it came out well. you got it at a great price too!

Got it back from the muffler shop today. He was able to tweak it around the spare tire. It still hangs kind of low but they put so much bend over the axle you can't take it up any higher. Cost me $40. Now I'm happy with it.

The K&N with gott's intake idea and this exhaust it does feel like it freed up low end torque. Every little bit will help since I tow my Samurai 4 to 8 times a year.

No tip. I might pick one up later and weld it on. This way it looks factory just bigger.

It is really quite in the cab and no drone. You know it is there because the low rumble but it is not annoying at all. It's probably one of the quieter systems you can get.
