Anyone run long tube headers??

Looking to get headers soon for my 00 F150, 4.6. Does anyone run with LT headers? Heard shorties don't do much for the 4.6

i run pacesetter longtubes on mine. i bought the 5.4L 4x4 header and they fit my 2WD 4.6L the only prob i had was the EGR pipe is a differnt size. i just caped the EGR on the header n the EGR valve up top. i noticed power right away it deff picked up. i could just go WOT from the line and it would bark the tires. nice price to mine were 283 bucks when i got them i think there at like 300 now. i can find the link if you want.

dynatechs are stainless steel and will never rust but they cost 1,100 to 1,500 bucks!!!

dont waste money on shortys i had shortys before i found this site i swaped it and oh man what a diff. good luck buddy

x2

I have the same set-up as shifty and i also had shortys before... i did notice a little with the shortys but LT are much better. i went with pacesetter also, but i had them sandblasted and painted with some high temp paint (6 months and the paint is still there and looks good) and when i put them in i had to unbolt both motor mounts the get the passenger side header on. and also they made putting my new trans in a little more of a pain then normal... FYI... but good luck and you will have no regrets once its done

This guy is right on it. Shortie headers dont do much for ANY truck. I am currently getting my pacesetter long tubes installed and have told a few people i would have pics and sound when done. Save yourself the money and hassle and go with the lts from the start.

If you don't mind how much did you pay for the pacesetter long tube headers?

mine were 283. free shipping the jet coated ones at the time were 425 bucks.

i didnt have to remove the start A/C compressor or even unbolt the motor mounts i took all the heat sheild off they both slid up there and bolted right in. while there is no manifold or header on the heades spray WD into the threads on the head and run a new bolt in and out of the threads belive me u will thank me it makes the bolts go in nice and smooth just by hand tightning.

ah yes i felt the pain on the trans droped it to rebuilt scratched up the passenger side header pretty good but got it out and back in. my buddy kept sayin to just take them off but why take of 16 bolts just to get to 3?

good luck!!!
