hello all.
I have been reading alot about needing to get a custom tune if you put a CAI on a 3V engine. i have an 08 f150 5.4L so i have the 3V, it has true dual striaghts with an x-pipe 2.25 exhaust, and an edge evolution programmer. i want to get a k&n CAI this spring. What do i need to know

The 2004s and 2005s were known to come from the factory in a near lean condition. At least one tuner did some testing and advised to get custom tunes with a CAI. Not sure if the newer ones are the same or not, you may be ok. However, you really do not get the full benefit without a custom tune. The Edge is tuned for stock intakes. In my opinion, it will be money well spent to get the Gryphon upgrade and at least one custom tune. Bill's tunes are so much better than the Edge, it's worth it even on a stock truck.

Bluejay is the man when it comes to chips and tuners. You probably don't have to, but you should to make it worth while IMO.
