I got my exhaust done for the second time today. I picked up my truck 03 150 with a 5.4 from the local muffler shop yesterday ( it was raining so I did not take a real good look at it.) When I got to work it was not raining anymore so I looked at the tail pipe and was amazed how smashed and kinked it was going over the axle. So I called the shop back and talked to the owner and he said bring it back and he would do it himself. So I go pick it up tonight and look at the tailpipe and the bends look really nice but its about 1/2 inch from the spare tire. Will this cause any problems like burning my spare tire up or what. I hate to take it back again. This muffler shop came recommended from a local auto parts store that I like and trust.

mine are about that close as well. been well over a year with that setupd and no problems or signs of anything.

 

No, shouldn't have any problems with that should be just fine.

 

I can just get my index finger between the spare and the pipe and no problems here either (over a year). Mine does run cooler though because it's dual all the way back.
