Arrow intake mod do it your self?

have read post on home page and how easy it is to get cold air intake pipe to a 3" instead of stock 2" but my question is that baffle that hang on to the side of the intake is this need for some reason or could one remove it to ? and dose any one here know how much more pick up you get/or if this mod will interfere with a smog check? would also think a k&n air filter or some other mass air flow filter would be a good mate to this mod. had to ask any mod that cost less than $25 bucks cant be that bad to try and if its a joke oh well only out $25 am i right but hay any thoughts on this would be cool thanks

If by baffles you mean the accordian shaped piece on the intake, I would not recommend that you remove it. The basic function of this part is to flex to allow for the movement of the engine under throttle.

I would definitely recommend a K&N or other aftermarket air filter, even if you do not go with the Gotts or DWV Intake mods.

I have put the DWV mod on my '06 S'Crew, and have a K&N filter. It does not effect the sensors in any way. I have not had any testing done but, the truck does seem to have a bit more zoom at mid to high rpm's. There is no noticeable change at low rpm or off the line.

Like you said, for $25 what do you have to lose?

Take care, and have fun.

I assume by baffle you mean the silencers. Yes, some have cut them off and pluged the holes. Have you read the threads in the How to section?

if you have a 2 valve motor it will not interfere with your smog check, a highflow filter is recomended but not required

X2 on what bluejay said, read the how articles
