That's AWESOME dude!! I'd love to do longtubes down the road but was always concerned about finding a shop willing to do the work for me. Are you in Sugarland, TX? If so, I'm about an hour from you. We should hook up after you get your work done and let me check ém out! (or just tell me which shop you used. lol)

Just curious, the guys that say Shorty's are no good all seem to have the older (Pre 2004) trucks, aren't the engines and heads different in these trucks ? I'd sure like to hear from someone with a 2004 or newer truck who has actually tried Shorties and Long Tubes to hear what they think.

i agree with someones opinion thats tried both. that would be interesting. not sure about engine and head designs but from what i've read, you gain very little power with shorties. their power increases are in the low and mid range of the rpm's which helps throttle response but still not much gain. plus if you have someone install them, your paying close to the same amount. so why not go lt's

Even chevys get little/no benefit from shorties, it's just common knowledge regardless of engine.

I agree that the shorties are a waste of time and money in a N/A application. I do CALL BS on a gain of 30HP and 35TQ with bolt ons and catted LT's. You'd be lucky to get 10RWHP with LT's and about the same in TQ. Your money would be better spent on getting an e-fan kit. Then get Long Tube Headers. I would stay away from pacesetters. If they are not made of Stainless Steel don't waste your time. Coated headers will rust in time. It all matters of what the headers are made of.

pacesetters sell ceramic and coated. plus it matters where you live if they rust bad or not

Power gains will vary based upon boost level, but typically run in the area of 30 RWHP in supercharged applications running lower boost levels, a bit less in normally aspirated applications.

right from troyer's website describing gains with the headers.
