How much do you have left over for a tuner?

You are aware aren't you that you are risking running lean with a CAI and no custom tunes? Plus, you are not taking full capabilities of the CAI without a custom tune.

definitely do some research on what you are risking without running a tuner with custom tunes. $500 for a tuner is much cheaper than replacing the engine.

So you guys are saying that by running a CAI and a exhaust I am going to run the engine lean and blow it up? Really? Hrmm. How is that?

We are sayin that there is a definite possibility. Some of the 5.4 3v come from the factory in a near lean tune. Adding the CAI is enough to cause it to run lean, but not enough to throw a code and you do some damage. This was proven by dyno testing. The advise is to not run a CAI unlss you get a custom tune. Even if you are not in a lean condition, the PCM cannot adjust enough to take full advantage of the CAI on the stock tune. It takes a custom tune. The advice is to do CAI and tune together.

Looks awesome, how much they cost?

I would like to do the CAI, Tuner and Exhaust all at the same time.

The CAI cost me $290 from SDHQ. I didnt think it was that bad. And my exhaust is going to cost me $225 installed. It should sounds pretty good when it is done. Im excited I cant wait for tomorrow lol! I was surprised how loud the intake is when u get on it a little bit. It sounds like an exhaust from in the front lol!

I thought that was primarily with the 04-05's. Didn't Ford correct that issue in the 06' and up? I suppose if he has a early model 06 then he could fall into the "lean" category though right?

Yes, the lean issue is primarily with the 2004-2005 but I'm cautious, I would not risk it. Especially since the CAI will only give you 5 or so hp without a custom tune to adjust the PCM.

That's what I thought but you had me wondering. Nothing wrong with being cautious.
