Banks Exhaust & AEM Dryflow...Drop in MPG! Help!
Well I installed my Banks Monster exhaust a little over a month ago and along with a AEM Dryflow panel filter and lately I have been noticing a drop in MPG. I live in Iowa and it is around 36 degrees today and has usually been really cold this past month but lately it has been nice and the gas mileage doesn't seem to want to get better or it seems like it is worse since I have installed the two about a month ago. I was driving around town today and got between 12-12.5 and then when I was coming back from Kansas city on Saturday it was getting around 15-16 doing 75 all the way home on the interstate and it was around 55-60 degrees outside that day?? I have a Gryphon waiting to be put in but think that there is something going on as to why my mileage has dropped since installing the two things which I figured could only improve it a little bit. I guess it seems like I have seen a drop of about 2 mpg compared to the stock filter and exhaust that was on before I went to this setup. I also ran the edge with the stock setup and it helped the mileage a lot! I ran it on level 2 and would be averaging at least 20 mpg going home from college! The truck has ran I'd say about 800-1000 miles since adding the exhaust and filter and the guy at Banks told me they start to break in at about 1000-1200 miles...What should I do??...drop some fuel system cleaner down it? The oil doesn't need changed for another 600 miles?? I am just confused at what could be going on? Change the air filter? The only other thing that was done to the truck was an S&B intake was added over 3-4 months ago and I ran that for about 500 miles until taking it off and selling it because I hated the drone it caused? Hopefully someone can help explain what might be happening...sorry for all of the questions.
I have Edge Evolution, Magnaflow exhaust and AirAid intake. My MPG since the day I installed the PC and exhaust has went way down. I usually dont get but about 240miles to a tank. I dunno man our motors just love gas man.
