Okay, I bought this truck not knowing thAT IT HAD A CRAP LOAD OF PROBLEMS, AND AFTER A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF PARTS, I AM AT MY LAST THING AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO... i really think that it is an exhaust leak, i know its not at the manifold though, so i guess it is were the manifold connects to the pipe, but the parts store says that there is no gasket listed for an '02 4.2L they say it is self sealing, but mine is obviously not sealing... HELP??? i dont know how to fix it

 

yea its got no gasket. the ball end is part of the manifold. i've never seen them go bad though. have someone hold rags over the tailpipe and have it running, and listen around for the leak. i have seen them crack though, so you may want to go underneith the truck and look for cracks in the manifold anywhere.
