Dynomax Ultra flow welded

Anyone in here ever use this muffler or exhaust system before. ive used them on other trucks before and they sounded and fit good but never on an f150.

if this is not recommended what would you use then. i would like the sound of a nice loud v8. thanks for your help

I ran this muffler SI/DO for about 5k miles on my old 04 heritage 4.6 f150. IMHO I didn't like it. It had a nice tone to it at low rpm but anything near the top end and it almost sounded like a v6 plus it wasn't very loud overall. I switched to a Flowmaster original 40 series after that and there was a world of a difference, sounded far far better and was much louder.

As far as sound is concerned you can't go wrong with a flowmaster. But if you want the best of both worlds(performance and sound) I'd go with magnaflow. And hey if it comes down to it and u want it just loud and mean sounding a good old fashioned straight pipe will do it.

There are tons of sound clips with various exhaust setups on youtube btw

I have one welded in place of my stock muffler dumped and it has kept me happy for about a year now. I'm probably going to get my exhaust redone, but just because I don't want a turndown anymore. The sound is good, very deep and rumbling up till about 3000 rpms, then it drops off a little. IMO, they sound better than Magnaflows down low, but up top they aren't as good.

Dynomax race bullet, only way to go if you're leaving cats stock. I absolutely love mine.

i was thinking of getting the flowmaster single side exit exhaust kit that comes with a 50 series suv muffler and just leaving the muffler off and putting a 23" long 3" wide pipe as a replacement

does anyone think this would sound good?

Leave the muffler on. There's a reason that system comes with a muffler, it's been tuned for sound and performance with that setup. IMHO use the complete system... and gut your cats.
(That's my answer for everything, BTW... I'm glad I live in a state without inspections)

Flowmasters drone inside the cab, plus they rust through after 1-2 years of use.

Magnaflows develop surface rust, and arent loud. Sound terrible at top end RPM too. Deep tone at idle and low RPM though, and perform better than Flowmaster.

Dynomax makes some 304 stainless, some are not though. Most of their stuff is pretty high quality. The race bullet is a popular choice around here.

If you can spend the cash, Borla is the best out there. 304 stainless (no rust), excellent performance, and sounds great.

My setup is just 3" stainless from the stock Y pipe into the bullet and dumped before the rear axle. All 4 stock cats are still on the truck.

No unfortunately. I've tried a couple different ways but haven't found anything that accurately reproduces the sound yet, still working on it though.
