K & N Air Filter

Has anybody used the K&N Air Filter? It claims to improve horsepower and gas mileage.

I use it on my F150 and I need to get rid of it. It was great when I had a tuner, but at stock I can't tell.

If you are in a really dirty environment, then stick with the paper filter. My filter probably needs cleaned and I have only had it for 9 months.

K&N's aren't that hot, in some cases I have seen losses in hp due to them.

Use the search feature to find previous discussion. Click on the serch tab in the upper right, then click on advanced search. Enter "K&N dropin filter" and you should get some threads to review.

I have had the K&N on my truck for 77,000 miles and like it. If it helps mileage or HP, it is too small to notice, but it saves on the cost of filters. I clean it about every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

I would look into a drop in paper filter. They are now washable.
