Just tell him it's a S&B, he's dyno tuned quite a few of them including mine so he knows what works and what doesn't. I'd just a 93 octane mileage, 93 octane performance, and a 87 octane performance granted you don't need a towing tune. Justin will tell you that you can tow on his performance tunes as well just not above a certain weight limit.

drone

I have the S & B CAI, and I fell in love with it as soon as I took it for a spin. I noticed a droning noise in the cab while I drove it. It was kinda aggrevating, but for the performance I picked up, I just ignored it.(Turned up the radio really loud.) My next mod was a custom GRYPHON from PHP. As soon as I got my tunes in from Bill, and hooked it up, the drone was gone. I haven't heard anything from it since. All I hear now when i'm riding is my MAGGIES. So to answer ur question.....yes with the 5.4, S&B combo, there is a drone. If u can't find a tuner that can get rid of the noise call Bill at PHP. (Granted I have not dealt with other tuners...Just going by what u said Troyer couldn't do with the drone diggman08.) I hope this helps..

It's a easy install, just take your time and follow the directions.

Just give ModBargains a call or email them and they will be able to help you.

Bill even said that he couldn't fix it but it seems like EVERYONE with custom tunes regardless of who did them, it fixed the issue. I'd like to ask you to do us all a favor and email Bill and let him know that it fixed your issue.

Just look around at all of the people who have his tunes and the responses from them.

Hey Fellas,

I have an 06 5.4L, I have a 40 series flowmaster which I will be switching out with a DI/DO maggie exiting in front of the rear wheel in the next month or so. I am pretty sold on the S&B CAI, love the look and the price. What programmer / tuner should I buy if I want to have my own programmer? Is the EDGE any good? I want to have my own because I have several people that want to do simlar things to their trucks and i thought hell I could buy one and just charge them to do their truck and re-coop my costs eventually. Let me know if this is even worth considering....thanks in advance!!

No, that's not going to be possible. The tuner can only be used on one vehicle at a time. The best tuner, IMO, is the Xcal3 with custom tunes from a place like VMPTuning.com.

Bump for helping me decide on an intake. S&B it is (as soon as the wife releases the funds!)
