Mass Air Sensor

ok so guys is this too good to be true?

In the "Off Road Adventures" magazine I got in the mail today they have this peice listed in there for $130.99 which isnt bad but then I have a promo code for 4WheelParts for 20% off and single item. Which would basicly bring this down to $104.79. They are caliming 12+ HP from it and with my CAI and Hypertech this might be a pretty healthy mod since im thinking about doing efans and under drives. What you guys think... is it everything it seems to be? Fuel mileage and HP gains? Is it a good price?

Thanks,
SouthernStyle

sounds too good to be true... what makes this better than the stock MAS???
Is it more precise?
can a little error in air flow measurement cause that much HP loss???

The only way I can see it giving an improvement is if your current sensor is really dirty. But you can buy the cleaner for like 8 bucks so I'd do that first.

But I am not an expert on air flow sensors so I could be wrong.

Anything from JET products is pretty much a joke. I bought a JET chip from my buddy before I knew any better and it didn't do squat.

^^^^^ Similar experience.
If you change air meters you need to retune. If you gain performance from just switching the maf, it is likely that it is just running a little leaner, which is unsafe.........Snake oil is right.

pretty much the best explanation on anything like this is. If it was such a badass product and only cost another 100 bucks dont you think Ford would already know about it, and already be using it?

Only time you need a new MAF is when you increase diameter of your air intake tube. You also need a retune when you do so.
