90mm MAF on 4.6?
90mm MAF on 4.6?
Does anyone know if a lightning 90mm MAF sensor would work on a 97 f150 with a 4.6?....if so would it be plug n play or would i have to do something else to make it work...thanks for any help.
You will need new injectors that are calibrated for the 90mm MAF and custom tuning. It is not a direct plug and go deal, and it is a waste of money on a truck without extensive mods, heads, cams, turbo, etc.
you'll need a retune and larger injectors are recomended however without mods it's a waste of money
worked heads, cams, intake and long tubes with a good exhaust could warrant the need for a 90mm MAF and larger injectors

ok thanks guys i was jus checkin before i made a dumb purchase. looks like now i need to work over a set of PI heads, pop in some cams, get a killer intake, get some big injectors, a bigtime fuel pump, some sweet pistons, get the longtube headers ive been debating over for a year, and then ill buy a mass air flow sensor
Sounds good, the intake I suggest would be a stock PI truck intake, they performed best on a dyno test done by muscle mustangs I believe. I just bought a stock PI intake to match my heads for $0.99 on ebay

sweet now i have some ideas to go with hey joshmac i see you have the larger precision products intake elbow..where did you order it from and how much if you dont mind..any difference in power or fuel consumption
No, they don't make a aftermarket elbow that fits the trucks, many places list the part for a F150, but they do not make one. I pulled mine off and did all the work myself, I matched it to the 75mm professional products TB, and then gastket matched to the upper intake. I went through with the dremel and smoothed up the casting lines, and the vacuum ports and then finished it with a fine grit polishing paper. I don't feel any difference in power, but my plugs are shot, so I can't really tell.
