...if you go from, for example, dual 2.25" to single 2.5" and use mandrel bends to do so, what you really end up with is dual 2.25" into a single 2.25" which is then stretched out to 2.5". That section of single 2.25" is basically a bottleneck.
Kinda like some of the y-pipes here:

yeah i have a si/do super44 so i could have my current tails cut and new ones bent to exit in front of rear tire? hmmm im debating...wonder how much it wuld all cost....i dont want black on my truck cause its white and will stand out like a sore thumb
yep he can hack those 2 pipes off and bend you 2 new ones, and hey id use the tips you already have to save some money, and i wouldnt worry about black gettin on your truck, ive never had black get on my truck, and ive had side exhausts on 2 of my trucks, but if it does then hey you have a good reason to wash your truck all the time! haha but really tho it wont get on it
Your truck is two tone, and you really can't tell unless you are eye level with the tips, or wipe a white rag along the underside of the bed. But having mine all fabbed up, using my old tips and a homemade x-pipe was $40.
