headers? Ive read all the threads here where you get twice the performance from the long tube as the short tube, but it may be a PITA to install. Well ive had the shorty headers, and they were a PITA as well. Who here has them installed and can give some quality feedback?

I do. What would you like to know? If you can imaginge, when installing... the tubes take up more space and come down farther, making it harder to get to those lower forward bolts. Also, the tubes come down right around the starter and make it almost impossible to reach the top bolt on the starter toget it back on secure. So... it sounds like you're handy if you already did short tubes... but i wouldnt expect to get a torque wrench in there.

As for power... i cant compare to shorties because i've never had them, but i can tell you that i got significant gains. I added the headers and cats first before anything else... and i could hear the difference even with the big muffler. After i changed to a magnaflow... she REALLY picked up. I'd say very worth it.

i know i picked up some power over shortys... i had pacesetter shortys with the stock 4 cats with the Y-pipe cut off and Turn downs behide the last o2 senor. Then i put pacesetter longtubes on with cut-outs adn dynomax bullets. i got a dyno before and i made 190 HP with 234 Ftlbs of TQ im going back soon for Dyno tuning the frist pull i make will see how much long tubes added over shortys then the last pull will be after they dyno tune my truck and it knows what all the mods are for Heres some pictures of my headers

And my dyno graph with SHORTYS is in my sig when i get dyno tuned ill put the new one up.

Thanks, thats really what i wanted to know, was rwhp. I realize you have to do a full conversion to get the most impact, and im starting with headers and exhause.
