Mustang Sound!!!
I do love the way the Mustang sounds is there any after market mufflers that can produce that sweet sound of the pony car, or do i need to find a set of mufflers off a mustang that some one has replaced with new mufflers?
heres a clip of my mustang, if you would like the sound of my car on your truck im assuming you have a v8? if so get two flowmaster 40 series two chamber mufflers and run an h pipe between them and have em dump under the cab

I don't think you will even be able to get close.
The motor is built for different applications (May help if you had a performance tune), and the exhaust is shorter and somewhat equal length. Which is impossible without moving the gas tank since it is in the way.

i dont know about a 3 ft piece of pipe though that to me isnt possible, but adding a piece of pipe that goes between the 2 pipes before they get to the mufflers is very possible and does make a big difference in the sound.

You can do it pretty easy on a two wheel or 4wd drive. Your bends will be more aggressive/pipe size, headers can compensate for that. An "X" pipe in place of the "H" pipe. AND - A tune as said.
It can be done or close to it - If your looking for that healthy GT sound/ via hardware and tunning. Our manifolds are designed more for torque - Hell, an older Mustang is like a go-cart with a motor
- That's not a bad thing, there's just a big weight difference between the two vehicles.
IF , your referring to that throaty GT sound effect the older ones have.
My 5.4L sounded similar to that at one time under normal acceleration, I was running just my forward cats (no rears) and a Slow Master 50 (Race series, not the SUV 50 series) - Everything else was stock. Sound like a GT 1/4 - 1/2 throttle from the light.
Look up user "Kevin24" and check out his gallery - He has the dual/ X-pipe set up on a 00-01 5.4L 4X4.

do it! ive heard it before, it sounds amazing. works best with a true dual setup.

thats what i was explaining, i pipe (roughly 3 ft) that connects the two pipes in order to equalize pressure
yah but 3ft ?? ive seen one where it was only a few inches and it was no wider than like what an X pipe would be. the 2 pipes running to the muffler that are only a few inches apart had the pipe right there joining the 2 together.
So you only need a very short piece to connect the two pipes.
I myself prefer an X pipe!
