2 cents on Headers

I received my Dynatech longtubes tuesday last week. Went and picked up all the supplies that I figured i'd need to get the installation done.

Now, when they tell you that a hydraulic lift is highly recomended.... they mean it. These B@$t@rds took 2 days to install with the help of 2 buddies. we struggled for up to an hour on cirtain individual bolts due to the limited space. Plus now that the damn thing is over i almost feel more comfortable laying on concrete looking up at a driveshaft than sitting on a couch watching tv.

Favorite bolt: Forward bottom head bolt... almost impossible to reach, let alone untorque. took one guy with a flashlight laying under the vehicle, and another with a little baby socket snaked through the wheel well, flashlight guy gives directions to make bolt/socket contact on account of the other guy cant see, this 2-3 man system came in very handy ALWAYS HAVE HELP.

In the end tho, installing the entire system myself made the payoff that much better when i started her up and she turned over like a champ.

Still need to replace the exhaust tho on account of my stock system is uglier than sin and quiets her down many levels.

Thanks for reading this, anyone with questions, comments, suggestions for me as far as new parts or these headers go... please feel free.

HEADERS ARE FREAKING AWSOME!

So the installation is a PITA (just looking under the hood reveals that it would be)?

How do you like the headers now that they are on? Can you feel any improvement?

It absolutely was about as annoying as those animal huggers. (PITA... HA.)

the other PITA that i forgot to mention was that in order to pull the old heads out you have to remove the starter (right side if anyone doesnt know)
and you have to put the new one in before you reintall it. so basically the new one being longer and bigger, covers that almost already impossible to get at/invisible top bolt, giving the average wrench weilding jockey like myself a hard earned lesson in physics.
2 laws newton forgot to mention:

1. Large hand does not fit in tiny holes
2. must have rotational space in order to turn a wrench

but to be serious, after i started her up when i was all done i was so happy and proud It sounds amazing to me. Shes still no mustang, but i can definately feel some extra pull from her, or as i you guys usually put it a "seat of the pants" difference.

I've been meaning to mention that the pic under your posts is pretty sick tornadom. You sketch that out yourself?
