i am confused concerning dynomax

is the only difference between the dynomax bullet and ultraflow welded is that the welded is oval?

edit: and is the difference in loudness noticable?

The bullet is a race muffler, it looks like a glass pack and is only around 4 db quieter than a straight pipe. The Ultra Flow is a straight through muffler also, but looks like a normal oval muffler and has more sound baffling and will probably be noticeably quieter than the bullet.

Clifford4x4 has had both, I think he said the bullet was quite a bit louder, but sounds better.

okay, thats what i thought. 4dB quieter than a straight pipe is still very loud. would there any noticable drone on the highway? i usually always have the radio on as well.

The drone depends, how are you going to exit the exhaust? If you're going to dump it behind the cab it is going to drone, if you exit it out the back it probably wouldn't be bad. I think Clifford4x4 dumped his bullet behind the cab and said it did drone. If you're concerned about the drone, just don't dump it, and I think you'll be fine.

yea, the muffler would just be taking place of the stock one and would exit in the stock position on the right passenger side behind the rear tire. thanks for the info, who knew it would be so hard trying to pick out what muffler to buy. i am making a 650 mile trip tuesday and want to get it done tomorrow so i need to make sure its OK!

It's going to be loud, for sure, but I don't think you will have a problem with drone on the highway with it exiting in the stock location... Most even say that straight pipes exited that way don't drone, so I doubt the bullet will. Usually any "straight through" muffler won't drone unless you dump it.
