How loud is straight pipe?

Does anyone have a video w/sound of straight pipe on a 5.0L?

I plan on taking off my flowmaster exhaust, and running straight pipe with a Y after the cat (so basicly dual exhaust with no muffler at all) How loud are we talkin? I dont want it so loud i cant hear myself think inside the cab, but i want some serious tone. Anyone have a vid? an possibly pictures?

I had no muffler on my truck with stock exhaust and it sounded great, now with true dual and supercharger its kinda loud, but awesome! On a 5.0 though Im not exactly sure. However on my 5.4 with no mufflers I love it

A 5.4L with straight pipes sounds completely different from a 5.0L...

My dad had a '94 F150 4x4 with the 5.0L. He had it straight piped with y-piped duals and it wasn't really all that loud. He had it dumped (muffler & tailpipe were hanging so he yanked 'em off) about a week before his duals were put on and it wasn't any louder except in the cab. My 5.4L with true dual straight pipes is A LOT louder than his 5.0L was...

I think you need to do something about the cats if you want your 5.0L louder...

Thanks man, I was thinking about taking my cats off but im afraid my check engine light will come on an my truck will run rough. Other then that, My state doesnt have emissions testing anyway so im not worried about getting busted for no cats. I just dont want it to run rought then have to put the s.o.b back on.

Think 5.4L with straight pipe is over 95 db?
