I didn't want to thread jack Blackout's thread, so I wanted to start a new one. I'm looking to buy the Banks Intake, so I did my research. One thread I came across was 06 Sandstone's thread, where he had to slightly Dremel the front shrowd to get better flow to his intake. See picture below:


I really didn't want to go through that, but I took a look at my engine bay today, especially where the intake would go and I found that I didn't have the shrowd that 06 Sandstone had.....am I missing something or did something get slightly changed on the 08 models? It almost looks as though I won't have to do any modifications at all to get max flow throught the front?

thats weird that you dont have that plastic shroud.. im sure ford decided that it was useless by '08.. i think its just a cosmetic piece. i guess your good to go with the banks!!

 

Hey guys ! I just wanna let you know my intake fit perfectly . Install was less than 30 min. I did it on my lunch break . lol I just didn't like the way the plastic covered up the intake . It probally didn't even effect the flow , who knows. I just wanted it gone

 

I have a 2007 and I also noticed that, I no longer have the intake, but I also dont have that shroud
