straight pipes
straight pipes
Ok guys i got a 4.6 2005 f 150 and I was thinking about putting true dual straight pipes on it and i was wondering if this could result in any problems on it also what do i do about the o2 sensors on the cats
if you take out the cats and o2 sensors you are gonna have problems without getting it tuned. not to mention it will be illegal. if you want loud, just cut off the muffler and run the pipes from there
What are you wanting to do that will require you to mess with the cats and O2's? Just running true dual straights will not require you to touch the cats or O2's. I would recommend getting a straight through muffler, it will cut down on the drone and give a little better torque. I have magnaflows now, but had straights with an x, both setup videos are in my sig.
I would leave the cats, but thats up to you, they will not gain you anything by removing them on a "stock" truck. But tuning will be required to get the truck to run right, if you are determined to run straights then do it, but I would run some type of muffler or resonator. Dynomax bullets are cheap, and will only cut the sound 2-4db over straight pipes, so they will still be loud.
Ok I think that I might just leave on the cats if there not going to help to live them off so what is one of the true dual exhaust setups you can by also what have uns found to be the loudest deepest soun ded muffler you can get
A true dual system will need to be done by a custom shop, the dynomax bullet is the loudest muffler period.

Not quite. There are spintechs out there that are louder, and the flowmaster 10 series.
I have Bullets on our '77 chevy.

Small body with Baffled internals=amplifies sound.
Well the chambered type mufflers that I have heard are still quieter than the straights and bullets I heard. The cherrybomb exteme is identical to the 10 series and half price, and the ones I heard are about the same as straights, but weren't quite as trashy sounding.
