i hear if you get shortys then you lose a ton of torque but if you get long tubes you dont? could someone explain this to me if you really lose torque at all....cuz i wanna put headers on my 4.6 but idk whats the difference in shortys and long tubes and how much gain/loss between the two

ok i can speak for the gains with Longtubes. i had pacesetter shortys on my truck for a while then i found this site. and people were claimiing. 30HP/35 Ft lbs with longtubes. and so i got pacesetter longtubes for 283.00 bucks and put them on and right away i could feel more power. my truck spins the tires no prob now.Have you ever seen how shorty headers are? lots and lots of crazy bends....it doesnt help exhuast gas flow... Longtubes have nice and smooth bends. and when the primarys reach the collectors it Scavges meaning it makes a vaccum to help pull the other Cyls down. Dont waste your money with shortys i had both shortys and now have longtubes and i really wish i had gotten longtubes frist. Any more questions feel free to ask

So there realy is a big change between stock and long tube headers on a 4.6? i asked my mechanic if there was and he said not realy that they tune the engines so muhc they get out as much hp as they can stock that headers wouldent make a difference. This is after i told him i wanted to do longtubes to highflo cats then true duals back and she said not to waste money on tubes... is that true?

well guys on here have dynoed before with stock exhuast and then added longtubes after and seen gains of 30HP/35Ft lbs. i think someone even saw like 40HP/ 43Ftlbs out of longtubes over stock. But long tubes deff add alot more power than shortys. i dynoed before and had 190HP 234Ftlbs and i need some Money so i can go back and see my gains.

How hard is it to install Long tubes on a 4.6? Ive also had someone tell me about leaking headers? and brand better over another with headers i also herd ceramic over stainless but there much more expensive i believe
