Filter cleaning question

hey, starting now and going through into the fall im always down on the farm working. the thing is, they have a very long rocky/dust bowl of a driveway, and where i park gets dusty from everybody driving past with machinery and whatnot. so my question is, is it ok to keep my K&N CAI on being it has the open oiled filter, i mean i really dont feel like swapping out with the stock setup? i guess i will just be cleaning it quite often? what are some of you guys opinions on this? will this hurt anything?
thanks for all help!

I've had my AF1 oiled filter on for about 7K miles now and quite a few miles down dirt/caliche roads. I've pulled it off a few times to see if the intake tube had any dirt or fouling. Nothing at all. Very clean, I'm very happy with the filtering, I think you'll be just fine. I'd just check it every couple months or 3k miles. I bet you'll be pleased how clean everything is..

i know that K&N and a couple of other companies make what they call pre-filters to go around CAIs. you can buy one for driving in wet conditions and for dusty conditions. they run about $45. ive actually been looking into one cuz i do alot of interstate.
