Purchasing Magnaflow - Question

I've purchased a K&N CAI for my truck, I get it next week. not installed yet.
I want to purchase an exhaust system for it as well. I've been lurking here for a while and see that Magnafow is a popular choice for an exhaust system. I live at 6,400' elevation, often pulling a 5000lb camper in mountains 7,000-10,000' elevation and need a little more HP!
I may get Edge Evo later, but I think this is the first step. Am I making the right choice?
Also, any suggestions on which Magnaflow system I should get: it's a choice between: single inlet, dual outlet, or single inlet, single outlet.
Are there any real difference in performance and/or sound with either of these types of outlets?
Will this system make my truck roar, or just breath better.
I'm not looking for the "big tough" sound, just performance.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

what kinda truck? year, model, engine, size, etc. id look at dual same side exit if you want the most power. dual straight back looks the best imo, but the dual same side exit has the most power.

Agreed. You'll retain your low end torque with the SISO.

I just had them cut off my factory muffler and weld in an 18" Magnaflow SISO. I left the rest of the exhaust system stock and added a SS tip. It sounds great, nice deep throaty tone but not so loud that it interferes with the radio or talking with passengers. It gave me the exact sound I was hoping for.

That's what I put on mine and we traveled all through the western U.S. towing 6,000 pounds. Worked great, sounds great.

I have an 05 Lariat, bought last year with 10,000 miles, 5.4 litre. I just put a K&N 77 series CAI (the polished unit) & had a local shop add a 3" pipe from the 'Y' back & a Magnaflow 3" single / single. Not only does the truck sound great, without being over the top (unless you really jump on it, then it sounds like an old school V8, super fun!), but I did notice a slight gain in performace as well, so I could not be happier, especially since the whole package was under $600.00 (I installed the CAI). Next up I will ad a tuner, probably an Edge, since it seems to be a favorite around here for the F150.

Good luck!

Hey, you guys that just replaced muffler and tip (not cat-back). What size inlets and outlets did you get on your new muffler? I'm wanting to put on a Maggie SI/SO muffler and tip on my '05 4.6l XLT Super Cab. I've seen posts where guys use either 2.5" or 3". Which one fits the stock pipes?

Also, what's the part number of the Maggie muffler that you used? Thanks all

Sorry I don't have that info. I just went to my local exhaust shop that and told them to cut out the factory one and weld in a Magnaflow. They already had the muffler in stock so I didn't have to order one.
