Another simple exhaust question
Another simple exhaust question
So I've come to the conclusion of running either a Roush or Magnaflow muffler on my 07 Screw with the 6.5' bed. My question is, what muffler should I get, part number, and where should I get it? I've found the Maggie on Ebay but can't find the Roush anywhere. I plan on having my local shop install it and do turn downs at the bumper as I like the hidden look better than the chrome tips. Nothing else has been done yet, but the CAI is next then the tuner. I was planning on going with the AEM intake, but if someone thinks a different one is better, speak up. I know everyone has an opinion. Still haven't decided on the tuner between Troyer or Edge. The exhaust is the big thing at this point as I hate it being so damn quiet!
The Roush only comes as part of the entire cat back system. Borla makes Roush and the closest to the Roush is the Borla S-Type and is available in 2.5" IN/OUT only. I have an AFe Stage 2 intake and I'm really happ with it. Most people go with the Air Force 1. Regardless of what tuner your use and who tunes it, you'll be happy with custom tunes. I'm using Troyer based on his experience with our trucks but everyone seems to like their edge also, especially if it's custom tuned by AESMechanic (Bill.) But at the same time, don't forget about Justin at VMPtuning. He tunes the xcals as well.

I had my factory muffler cut off and had them weld in a SI/SO Magnaflow muffler and it sounds great! It has a real low deep sound and sounds great when your getting on it but otherwise it's not going to rattle your neighbors windows. I had the whole thing including a SS tip installed for $120. The sound was exactly what I was shooting for.
Does anyone have the part numbers for the Borla or Maggie? I just read in another thread that SI/SO is a better torque producing setup than SI/DO and also the side exit is better than the rear. Anyone else heard anything to that sort?
I don't think it really matters where it exits. The only thing that it effects is sound and if it's in front of the wheel, it's probably going to dirty your wheel up a bit. A 3" SISO is better for low end torque than a dual setup.
Right on. I've heard that more bends equals better torque, less bends, more horsepower, i.e. straight pipes or open headers on high horsepower engines. I need the torque. I miss my Hemi!
