Question another question on exhaust...will this work

Okay, I have my truck with a flowmaster dual exhaust. When i bought it has the pipes coming out the back, which i dont care for. I went to put turndowns on and noticed if i put them on (the 45 degree angle ones) that they would blow in the axle. So I was wondering if I bought the pipe that was like a half cirlcle (180 degree) from autozone, could I cut it in half and have two 90's instead of 2 45's? The 90's would blow straight down and miss the axle. R these things easy to cut (use a sawzall)??

how could no one else be having this problem? Was it a mistake when they put the muffler to far back or something?

yea they can be cut pretty easy with a hack saw or sawzall. i would go to autozone and get some straight pipe so the exhaust goes over the axel then dumps. or you could have a shop do it for pretty cheap. it couldnt be more then $50

He's just saying you could put some straight pipe between the turn downs and the mufflers to move the turn downs farther back so that they dump after the axle instead of on it. Really, no benefit except for fixing your current problem.

i would go over the axle to eliminate the issue of exhaust gas heating up the axle. its probably not a big deal at all but i would do it just to me safe

Also if you ran your pipes past the axle you wouldn't have as much drone going down the highway.
