05 headers

Alright fellas I have a couple of questions, I have been reading now for hours and can't get the answers I want so I thought I would ask.

I have a 05 5.4 2wd f150 I am looking at long tube headers but I can't spend 1500 on them. I was looking at the pacesetter ceramic coated here
http://www.lmperformance.com/15953/52.html
But I started reading here and I am also interested in the OBX headers but I can't find where to buy them or much info on them for the new body style.

Now my truck only has 2 cats and my current settup is true duals straights with an x-pipe all 2.5 turned out lightning style with 3.5" tips, will I be ok to put the long tubes on and leave my exhaust alone for awhile and then later put a some bullets on?

As for tunning I am currently running a max micro tuner from superchips and I have been trying to come up with a way to justify getting rid of it for custom tunning from troyer so here is my opportunity. However I am in college so money is tight right now so will I be ok running my current tunes untill I can afford new ones?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Blake

I don't know what the exhaust looks like underneath on the newer trucks, as I have an 02 but you should be able to run your current setup and tunes with no problems. On problem with current setup might be that the long tubes might relocate the cats. But like I said, I don't know what the exhaust system looks like for the newer trucks so you might not have to move anthing, just cut the existing pipe and attach to the headers. I haven't seen the OBX headers for the newer body style either. Everyone that I know of is getting the OBX off of ebay, including myself.

Alright so I should be able to run current tunes for awhile thats good news. I found OBX headers for the new body style but they are mid tubes whatever that means, I will probably be going with the pacesetters because they are ceramic coated. So how bad is it going to kill my performance to run these with 2.5" straights untill I figure out what muffler I want to run, or will the 2 stock cats keep enough back pressure to keep the torque from moving to fair up the rpm range?

It all depends who you ask. Everyone has their own take on what the best exhaust system is to run. You're going to get a bunch of different answers by a bunch of people who all think they're right. In the end, I think you'll be happy with the long tubes even IF you lose a little low end torque, and that's a big IF.

Why do they say off road use only?
