That sucks!! Yea , hopefully once the manifold is off, you'll have enough of the stud remaining to get a good bite on it with a pair of vise grips. If not - Well , lets not go there yet ...

That could be problematic. Def. get a can of PB blaster and let the thing soak a bit. Vise grips for sure. If there is not enough bolt shank left, you will definitely have to tap it out some how. I keep seeing this product at the hardware stores:

It's about $20 and might work if you don't have a tap and die set.

Good luck.:o

all is well, everything is taken care of. ive got both headers on and the bullet mufflers mounted behind them, and lets just says its very loud. the first time i fired it up my G/F was standing right next to it and i dont think she was expecting it to be as loud as it is. She jumped back sooo far. I think i need to tone it down a little though because i can definatly see myself gettin a ticket in about a week.

well for now i just put a crap load of that exhaust repair tape on it and it seem to be working fine. but its just a temorary fix until i can find another way to get it permanently fixed. ya i might have to run some more pipe or put some a couple more mufflers on there because my buddy was tellin me that the injecter timing or something like that requires a couple pounds of backpressure and he said i might be hurting by running it so open like that and with the 3" bullets. i might just take it to a shop and have them run the rest of the system and have them dump out right after the rear axle.

i shoved a 3/8 extention in my EGR pipe and taped it ....Jbrew has been telling me back pressure is a myth other wise the Stock muffler/ System would be the best thing of the truck.... no one ive talkd to said anything like that can happen...if you run open headers with Shorties you can crack a valve because the cold air can get back to the valve...but with LT's it takes so long for the air to start going back up the pipe it gets blasted by some more exhuast before it goes all the way up. Yeah im gonna take my truck to a shop when i get some money and have them weld everything and also have True duals 45ed behide the rear tire.....with a nice Suprice at the tips...hehe WOOHOOO 1,000 posts!!!! you like the sound of your truck?? .... did you paint your headers?

SHIFTY!!! When you quote me buddy, use my words exactly - not the way you understand it lol.

That's okay , it's confusing.

When you modify air coming in and air going out, theres only so much a factory tune can make good use of.

Back pressure, is mis-understood. It's more about scavenging and how your tuned to handle it.

If you would like better understanding - head over to the tuner forum and read posts from Mike T . MGD(bubba) has a few good writeups as well.
