Headers

I have a 2004 5.4 supercrew 4x4. I have installed a K&N FIPK Gen II, throttle body spacer, flowmaster series 40, 3inch leveling kit. Need more power! Anybody know exactly what the difference will be with long tube vs short tube? Also, which brand gives you the best bang for your buck. Any info will help greatly, thank you.

I went with longtubes, more hp, lil more money, and A LOT more modifications required, but the results are far better than shortys... i went with the pacesetters and locking header bolts are a must... so far no problems and the sound and performance is awesome!

get custom tunes! it will add way more power than any headers will, and costs less too!

the cost is about the same or more for the tunes+tuner, the tunes would gain about 10-15hp more than the headers

It's doing well, sure do like the clearance. Got it from fat bob's garage. Waiting for the need to buy new and improved tires, thats not easy. Will add pics when I figure out how.

I haven't seen many options on the long tubes, mostly pacesetters. Are they a pretty good brand?

pacesetters are good and pretty cheap only 283 for a pair for my 97 4.6L and i love um noticed the power too... the only thing is they are just steel so i got some high temp header paint so they wont rust within 3 weeks....my shorties i didnt paint and within about 3-4weeks i went muding and they were rust...but no holes or leaks from the shorties even after 3 years of mudding and michigan winter/snow/salt i like pacesetter brand!! and they are made in the U.S.A i got my headers from Autopartswarehouse.com. id say i got about 20HP and 25 Ftlbs not to mention an amazing sound guys on here like dynatechs cuz there stainless steel but they cost 900 and up!!

lol once i get my other dyno graph we are making a sticky in this fourm...shorties=No power Long tubes = UP TO 30HP/ 34Ftlbs.....Shorties are a waste of money.....i found that out the hard way....when i put my long tubes i noitced a diff. right away....i harmmerd it from a light and my truck started walking sideways for about 20FT...when i had shorties the tires would just slip a lil then grab not even like a foot of spinning....Longtubes...then dynotune!! Dynotuning with Xcal2 is in my near future..... i alredy have CAI E-fans and now long tubes i highly reccomend long tubes for anyone look for more power!!
