the word best can mean a lot of things.

best power

best sound

best reliability/coverage

best price/value

for the most power, the AF1 seems to be the choice.

i chose the K&N FIPK because it does add power, sounds great with no drone, and has a lifetime warrant coverage AND is C.A.R.B. certified.

i have the Roush/Airaid in my 07 5.4 and love it. I heard the AF1 stainless tube holds too much heat.

I like the S&B intakes, closed box to make sure water and extra heat doesnt get in, but still has a big enough opening to get some more air in.

The best cold air intake is the stock one. Normally saw about 10 degrees cooler IAT on the stock set up over the 3.5 AF1.

But the AF1 still gets my vote as far as an intake goes.

Well if you put a custom xcal in with it, then go with the af1 3.5, if not my vote is either the af1 3.0 or the airaid, both are fine kits.

What if you were to wrap a heat protector around your cai? I know you will say it hides it, but if it makes the air remain cooler, i think it is worth doing.

We carry only AEM units as they have been tried and true to be one of the best units in the industry.

4.6:

PEAK POWER GAIN:
8HP @ 4500RPM, 9 FT-LBS @4500RPM

5.4:

11HP @ 3000RPM, 19 FT-LBS @
3000RPM

"The Original — Outperforms Every Cold Air on the Market"

AEM pioneered the Cold Air Intake System for sport compact cars in 1995. They are dyno-tuned to length and diameter creating maximum horsepower and torque over any other system of its kind.

AEM Cold Air Intake Systems feature an individually tuned inlet pipe and a filter relocated outside of the engine compartment for a cooler intake charge. On systems that have long inlets or when the bracket carries an unusual amount of stress, AEM incorporates a load distribution flange (plinth) that spreads the load across the surface of the intake pipe instead of directly on the bracket welds that could cause failure. AEM also TIG welds all of the brackets and fittings for durability. Every AEM Cold Air Intake System is guaranteed for the life of your vehicle.

Key Features:

* C.A.R.B. exempt or pending C.A.R.B exemption (50-state legal)
* Optional DRYFLOW Filter Cleaning System available
* Can be used with optional Air Bypass Valve
* Includes a complete hardware kit with soft mounts for a guaranteed perfect fit
* Available powder-coated in red, blue or silver or with a mirror-polished finish
* Comprehensive installation instructions included
* Manufactured and assembled in the USA
* Limited lifetime warranty

Soft Mounts Flex With Your Engine (So Your Bracket Doesn't)

In addition to guaranteeing a perfect fit, AEM soft mounts, included with every AEM air intake system, provide a flexible pivot point for the intake where it mounts to the chassis to prevent added stress on the mounting bracket, which could cause it to break.
50 State Legal Each system is submitted to the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) to achieve an executive order verifying that they are 50-state legal. Consequently, every AEM Cold Air Intake System is either C.A.R.B. exempt or pending C.A.R.B. exemption.

Give me a call or PM for pricing.

i have the AEM and i love it. very well built and has a dry filter. the metal tubing does not hold enough extra heat to make a difference and its not like the air is just sitting in there getting hot. the speed the air moves through the pipe makes the heat of the pipe a non factor.
