I am reallt debating to take my muffler off my truck. Is it going to hurt anything I want a louder sound atleast until I find an exhaust I like. My buddy has an 04' FX4 and his muffler is cut off and he just has it turned down. Was curious and was in need of help before I do something stupid. If anyone has a link to where I can see a diagram and maybe where I can here it that would be great too! Thanks

i went from what your looking at doing... to true dual 2.25's.... i can honestly say i liked the muffler cutout the best.

 

Don't just cut it out. Have it taken out and place a 14" magnaflow muffler in place of you're on a budget.

 

dont cut it off take the time to unbolt it so that if you ever need or want to put the stock back on you can. i did the same thing but added 3' of pipe then put the turn down on to try to get it out from under the cab. i am very happy with the way it sounds.

 

i just cut mine off frist. then i ended up cutting the y-pipe and putting turn downs right off the end of the last o2 senor it was pretty loud. lots of droneing thoe.
