magnaflow 16612 kit install question
magnaflow 16612 kit install question
I put the kit on the other night. No issues, seems to be good fit. Only thing is I can't get it more then 1" from the spare. I followed the video install on you tube and set the muffler with the offset to the left (when looking at rear of truck). Thinking this might be the problem. I've tried searches and nothing I found says anything about it. I did see one guy set it vertically but it didnt look like the tip came out right to me. My spare is a fx4 stock 275 65 18. I'm going to readjust it this weekend.. Any thoughts?

well unfortunately magnaflow doesnt specify which way to put the muffler in thier intructions and I like to know experiences from others on what works best so I don't have to post "magnaflow caught my truck on fire" posts like others have had too. but thanks for being a **** bag instead of helping.

I've never had any problems with any kits ever until I found magnaflow. Thanks for no help.
Sorry your having problems with the install, and sorry you have to deal with the people who make smart remarks.
If I remember correctly we're supposed to help each other here, not rag on one another.
Anyway, I agree... the instructions that Magnaflow provide aren't the greatest of quality to say the least. I'd try fiddling around with the system a little more and hopefully something will come to your mind that will help you move the pipe away from the spare.
If all else fails, take the truck to a muffler shop and see what they suggest. If its only a minor adjustment it really shouldn't cost you to much.

Thank you. I feel the same way and hopefully others do too about the site.
As far as the exhaust it wasn't really a problem. The instructions just weren't really helpful for placement angle of the muffler. Fitment was good and everything, just too close to the tire. I tried many different fitments and just really wanted to know how others went so maybe me and others using this site for information in the future can make a good decision on how to mount this kit. The magnaflow instructions should really say their best judgment at least.
