maggie 16612 install

I put the kit on the other night. No issues, seems to be good fit. Only thing is I can't get it more then 1" from the spare. I followed the video install on you tube and set the muffler with the offset to the left (when looking at rear of truck). Thinking this might be the problem. I've tried searches and nothing I found says anything about it. I did see one guy set it vertically but it didnt look like the tip came out right to me. My spare is a fx4 stock 275 65 18. I'm going to readjust it this weekend.. Any thoughts?

That's how I have mine and it's about an inch away as well. I've had mine on for a year without any issues. I used to have it oriented the other way but it stuck out too far. I have heard of people orienting them vertically as well. I'd drive it around for a few days and then get back under there and move it around a bit and see what's best for you.

I do have some pics in my gallery of mine.

Thanks. Is there any way you can get a pic of yours now? The muffler and clearance? It was hard to see with the gallery pics.
Some people said mount it vertically but I think it looks stupid from the side of the truck since you can see it through the wheel well. Plus to me it looked too low towards the axle if the truck was fully loaded up It looked like it would easily cause clearance probs.

Let me see if I can get some pics tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Too dark and wet right now to get anyting decent.

So you want the muffler orientation now and the space between the pipe and the spare tire?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Here are the pics that I took tonight.

From the back looking toward the front:

The camera is on the ground shooting up. I have about 2.5" at the closest point.

From what I remember after a few days I went back under and loosened things up and readjusted again and it seemed to sit alot better.

Hope this helps.

You can let the spare tire down and move towards the driverside and tighten it back up. You should have about a 1/2" of clearance thru out the system.

Ok I never thought of that, lol! I will try that. It has roughly 3/4" right now but I'm still doing the spare thing!
Btw Chris this kit has worked out much better for me so far. It sounds alot better too. I dont know what makes it sound different but it does. That deal with the 16616 kits honestly pissed me off alot.. But you were a big help and I appreciate your trying to work it out, and thank you!
