magnaflow muffler material

My father bought a 2008 f350 V10 and wanted a magnaflow exhaust because he likes the way my truck sounds and I talked them up pretty good.Trouble is they don't make a kit for his truck. He took it to his local magnaflow dealer and they convinced him that the magnaflow muffler is NOT made of stainless steel on the inside. So they sold him a look alike that they swear that is stainless thru and thru. Anyone else hear of magnaflows not being totally stainless steel?

It sounds like the dealer/shop was probably going to make more money on the exhaust that they sold him. Put it this way. If they were going to make more profit from the magnaflow. Then the other one wouldn't have been SS thoughout.

From Magnaflow.com

Question: Why is MagnaFlow the best exhaust system?

Answer: Nothing performs better, looks better, or sounds better than MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust. Our Research and Development Team invests many hours to ensure our products stay competitive and perform the way they should.

Our systems feature straight-through flow designs for the ultimate in unrestricted horsepower and torque for big power while maintaining exhaust efficiency.

The internal MagnaFlow muffler is designed of stainless steel perforated core, stainless steel wool, and an acoustical absorbent material -- superior to fiberglass (which many other manufacturers use). No baffles, chambers, or louvers. No restrictions at all, just straight-through, wide-open performance with a smooth, deep tone, and each MagnaFlow stainless muffler has a highly polished mirror finish for a show car look.

Our systems give a 20% reduction in bends over your O.E.M. system to provide the power you demand.

Looks like everything is stainless steel.

Thanks for the responses... forwarded it to my pop... oh well.. he likes the sound of the one they put on. Not like he is going to make them change it to a magnaflow. Besides, V10's sound funny anyways

I'm not sure on that, never really looked into that. I had two polished Magnaflow mufflers on my Roush and they never got rust on them. Sounds like a good deal though, which is why I can't wait for my polished Magnapack to get here for my truck!
