on the 04s you have 4 cats. its best to cut the back ones. Cutting the front ones will get you in trouble with O2 sensors and engine codes that could throw your truck into limp mode etc.

i would like to cut my back ones too.

The back ones are easier as they are straight, I would enlist the help of someone that can weld though, the amount of constant temp change will do a number on an autozone exhaust clamp. Get quality pipe if you are cutting them out and nut gutting them. Check out Jbrew gallery I think he has a pic of his all tore apart on a bench.

You have a welder ? Or a friend with a welder? If not -get one or make one.. Just thinking about touching an exhaust without one ..

Anyway, I offed the rear cats and had a flowmaster 50 series muffler -(Not the SUV type) - The truck sounded like a GT taking off.

No welder ? You'll get about the same effect droping the front of the exhaust down , break up the pre-cats HONEY COMB inside with a tire iron or something. Suck it out with a shop vac

NOTE: Make double sure you flange bolts look heathy before attempting ..

BTW Guys , That Gallery of mine posted earlier is kindu lame - Here's a better one of mine - I added another vid yesterday..

wtf were you doing??!?! you had it in drive, then reverse, revving the whole time. please tell me the garage door was at least open. breathing that carbon monoxide isn't healthy at all. just rev it in neutral or park...

btw, you have longtubes and high flows right? your exhaust is soooo quiet for having that kind of setup. i really expected it to be louder. magnaflows sound like pooh to me. How can you get performance AND sound good? maggies give performance and sound like ***. flows sound amazing but dont perform well. Corsa? but soooo expensive, i dunno. blehhh.

You don't like sound of the awesome Magnaflow????

- I can turn up the second story fans if we get more than one vehicle running at the same time..

Anyway , I've done the 180 with Magnaflows - They perform okay . I can't get use to that sound.

I was thinking about going to Borla . I want to hear some more exhaust vids from Roush first ..

I think I'm jinxed now - I had her sounding perfect when my exhaust mods only consisted of the factory front converters (No Rears)and the Flow master 50 - I miss the sh^t out of that sound.

But ! I can get to 80 mph from a stop 6 seconds faster vrs the Flow master..
