Just wanted to add a little info as I've been looking at this for a while making decisions on what to get.... Both Dynatech and OBX have two systems, one for Lightning/Harley that sweeps back into dual exhaust, and one for single exhaust where the mid-pipe's merge into a Y and exit as single exhaust. The problem for those with single setups like me is that most are probably 3", and those Y pipes from both companies merge two 2-1/2" pipes into a single 2-1/2", an unecessary restriction with all the money being spent to open things up. I'm going to buy the OBX for the Lightning/Harley and run them into this Magnaflow Y.....

....then just add a short length of 3" to connect to my 3" cat-back.... That also give me an easy option if I want to run true duals out later, just remove the Maggie Y and hook it up.... Also probably gonna run the following cats....

I want to get the headers first to measure how much room is available for cats before ordering though...

Just thought that info might be of use to someone considering options.

Are there any issues with fitting up the Stainless OBX system to a regular steel Y? I'm looking at doing the exact same thing but not sure what to do about Cats, I want Stainless, but would use steel if it's possible.

I'm running the Pace setters (Long tubes) on a 5.4L . They fit good, I haven't had a problem with them yet, but I only have about 4000 miles on them ..

Its aluminized steel, not as good as stainless but there's no problem with combining the two. When I get the stuff here I'll probably have a shop expand the inlets on the Y so the OBX pipes will slide in. The OBX kit comes with a couple band clamps, I think I'll weld those pipes and use the band clamps at the Y.

I have a single 3" catback already on the truck. I may change to duals down the road, but not now. I think it will be as loud (hopefully not louder) as I want it as is....

OBX on the way....

I'm debating whether to ceramic coat them or not, would add a couple hp and keep underhood temps down, but haven't decided if its worth $170 or not... I plan to provide dyno results, but don't expect them until into feb..., I've got to gather some parts, select cats, find time to install, etc.... I may get into a bit more of a hurry once I have them in my hands though...

I dynoed a few weeks ago and put down 237/308 without cooling the engine and with a/f at 11.5:1, woulda/coulda/shoulda been maybe 250/330 cooled down and 13:1, but since those numbers are what I have I'll do the "after" the same way, strap it down and go....

'03 Cobra air meter
Roush inlet pipe with BA conical filter
24lb injectors
moderately ported heads (stock valves)
9.8:1 compression
3" single catback with Flowmaster 3-chamber
e-fans

Just enough stuff that the headers should make some nice gains...

You can get them ceramic coated, but then add about $170 to the price and ceramic coating on the inside doesn't stay, they can't etch the surface well enough for it to stick (outside gets sand or media blasted). The inside coating will flake off and you're left with mild steel exposed to all the condensation exhaust produces. If I get mine coated I'll probably just have the outside done, I don't want the inside flaking off into brand new high flow converters....
