Building new 5.4 thinking about headers

I'm putting together another 5.4 due to the current engine taking a dump. I plan on a pre-PI shortblock with PI heads, so it will yeild a 10.48-1 comp ratio. I will also be using a set of 24lb. injectors and matching MAF. A set of underdrive pullies, and I was thinking about a set of stainless shorty headers off Ebay. There is a seller who sells a set for $169. they look good, since my cast iron manifolds have 184.k on them, I figured why not?

Any thoughts???
Please reply
Thanks

shortys wont give you any more power or fuel milage. if u get a set of long tube you can expect an area of 35 more hp and better gas milage (as long as you dont have the pedal mashed ) long tubes are a lot more expensive tho,

even if u decide not to get the long tubes the shortys wouldnt be a bad idea, those stock manifolds are crap i just replaced both my manifolds and i only have 98k on my 02.

Dont bother with shorties, they gain you no hp or torque anywhere. I gained 30hp/35ftlbs with my dynatech long tubes on my old engine, which had several mods.

Shortys are a waste of time. You will pay for what you get when you purchase headers. I've been looking as getting some in the future. I cannot find any competition for the dynatech long tube headers. OBX makes stainless steel headers long tube headers for 03 and earlier. I don't know the quality of the OBX, however they are the same thickness of the dynatech headers.
