Exhaust Question

My '02 F150 exhaust setup consists of a 2.5 inch mandrel bent catback system (ebay) with a si/do Flowmaster 40. While the truck sounds bad a$$, I felt like I have lost low end torque. The problem seems worse when towing. After Christmas, I am going to cut out the cats and put in two high flow maggies.

My question is this: Will I gain low end torque if I take out the Flowmaster and just add a Y-Pipe along with the high flow cats?

Thanks Guys!

Does anyone have an idea if I will gain any low end torque with a Y-Pipe instead of my Flowmaster 40? Will the loss of back pressure be a problem???

i not 100% on this but im pretty sure you'll lose your low end cause adding high-flow cats and no muffler is getting rid of alot of backpressure which is needed for low end torque

ditch the flows before you redo the rest of the plumbing

Remove the Flowmaster muffler and replace it with a Magnaflow, Cherrybomb, Borla, any other muffler. The inner chamber design of the Flowmaster restricts performance.

WS6,

Out of the mufflers you suggested, which one gives me a loud, deep sound and gives me great performance? I am hoping to get the sound of my flowmaster with the performance of a magnaflow. Is this possible?

Thanks!
