Aftermarket MAF

Well my CEL came back on again with my CAI. And I was wondering if I could get a new/aftermarket MAF that would correct the problem. I want a chip, but dont have the money now, but my dad said he would by the MAF. Go figure, lol. I will eventually get a custom tune, but for now is there a MAF sensor that I could install that would compensate for the new CAI? It is a AEM Brute Force CAI.

The problem is your CAI, it's causing you to run lean, probably.

Basically your options are to remove your Brute Force until you can get some custom tunes or go with the 3" AF1 intake. The 3" AF1 won't cause you to run lean.

Changing the MAF sensor isn't going to help.

Don't keep driving your truck with the brute force if you're getting a lean code.. it's wrecking your engine..

Go to an Autozone store and ask them to read your trouble code, it may be something else. Write down the code they give you and then look at the very 1st post under the "engines" forum here, it's a "sticky" called DTC codes.. VERY helpful!! That'll tell you just what your CEL means.

Good Luck!!

'04's are bad about showing a lean problem even though you might not be, real sensitive, they fixed the problem in '05 though. I doubt it's lean enough to cause a problem, but I wouldn't go WOT until you have your custom tune.
