just unhook the damm thing!

you know i got sick of trying to make that quiet little quarked up motor louder with mufflers, tail pipes turndowns... wat ever. they were all to quiet for me. of coarse this truck will never sound like a big block with a hi lift cam and dualls ( wish it did ) but i did the next best i could. i decieded just to take off the dam muffler! before i started it i was like dam this is gonne be really loud but it wasnt outragous or anything. low rpm it sounded good but 3000 rpm and up it is amazing! sounds so bad ***! it is a different tone but it is definitly louder. so any one who is fed up with exhaust kits that are to friggin quiet for you likin the n take the damn thing off!

I found that it wasn't nearly as loud as I thought. My Dynomax system, super turbo muffler, was pretty loud, the tailpipe rotted off and I got a hole in the top of the muffler, and it got louder. Ok, I got the JBA SI/SO 3", but before, I hacked the old system off and fired it up. I don't know why, but it idled pretty quiet, revving was cool. My buddy has a straight pipe and it's loud, maybe it's where it angles. It's hard to get these things to sound loud any other way short of long tubes, no cats, true duals, better cams and loud mufflers exiting where a Lightning would.

Mines loud as hell now with LT's , HF'S and a 22" mag muffler. That set up produced more torque and ponies than I have had in the past. I'm not happy with the sound of the Maggy - Plus I'm a little cheesed off that it leaked!!(very disapointed, it was a b^tch to fix) The Magnaflow Cat's are great!! I'm getting the Roush Muffler kit for it..

Anyway , my set up sounded the best (like a mustang GT) when I had these components -

Stock Manifolds , Removed the rear cats and replaced w/straight pipe 2.5" - left the front cats in place. Ran a 50 series Flowmaster..
It sounded bad a$$ even when taking off normally from a stop light, that's when it mimicked the mustang GT..The only problem with that set up was it ate up my torque and it was slow from the line. I had plenty of power up top..

BTW - I didn't need cell eliminators with either set up - still within parameters. Never had a check engine light.

About a week after I bought my truck, I went to Murrays and bought a few feet of pipe, and a turn down, Hacked off that water heater of a muffler and Threw on the turn down, and it sounds prettty good. Heres My Old F250LD with Duals and No muffler...
