What do you think about this

I'm going to replace my magnaflow and I don't have a welder so I'm going to cut off the exhaust then mount the new one with these

Do you think this is a good idea or is there something else that would attach better.

Thanks

I know many people with these style clamps and they have no problems. I will probably put them on my cutouts once I order them.

once you break through the pipe, hold on tight, it will go FAST and hurt you.

Sawzall with a metal cutting blade will do it in seconds.

I would just go to auto zone or something and pick up some pipe clamps there. they are way cheaper and u dont have to pay shipping. I put my cat back on with these and they work great. They are also the same kinda clamps that come on most stock exhuast. all they are is a u-bolt with two nuts that fasten down a u-shaped clamp, they word great, u just have to make sure you tighten them really hard so that it makes the pipes oval inside of eachother otherwise they will just slip right out of eachother.

napa has those same clamps cheap. Just be sure to get stainless steel. The factory one by the cats is almost the same as that, btw.

Carquest sells the clamps also. Just make sure to crank the bolts down. I just hit it with the 1/2" Impact and it definitely did the trick

Hey I just got the muffler and I'm not going to install it until this weekend, but it looks like the pipe is the same size as the magnaflow and I was wondering if maganaflow make the pipe a little smaller so it fits into the pipe on my truck which is 3 inches or over it or the same size.

If it is the same size should I still stick with the clamps or is there something else that would be a better solution

Thanks again

the two ends of your magnaflow should be flanged or widened so that they barely fit over the other pipes. so really the muffler's intake and outlet pipes are something like 2/8 larger in diameter than the regular pipes. but if for some reason they are the same size take your pipes to an mechanic shop and have them flange them to fit for you
