Straight Pipe Noise

I have a 40 Series Flowmaster and I cannot stand the cabin drone at 1700 rpm. Does anyone have a y-pipe with no muffler and Magnaflow high flow cats? If so, is there any drone inside the cab at cruising speed? I like how the Flowmaster sounds when I lay the hammer down, but the drone is too much.

Straight pipes will drone less because there's no muffler resonancing. Outside the truck, straight pipes are louder. However, on the inside, a Flow 40 (glasspack ect.) will seem louder because it's resonancing right under the cab.

straight pipes also sounds a lot raspier because there is no sound reduction, just free air flow.

maybe look into a SLP loudmouth muffler, they are basically a straight pipe with a wider tubed muffler, straight through of course. still very loud.

Thanks Guys!!! It sounds like removing the muffler and straight piping will be the route to take. No WOT around Johnny Law!
